What are the roles of genetics and a person鈥檚 environment on obesity?

What are the roles of genetics and a person鈥檚 environment on obesity?

If I could give a coherent, provable explanation to your question I would not post it here but sell it to on of the many companies that are trying to produce anti-obesity drugs.
Your question can at this point of time not be answered, we do not have enough knowledge of either the genetic nor environmental influences on obesity and how they interact.
That said, of course there is data on a lot of connections between genetic factors and weight as well as environmental factors and weight in humans. Source(s): http://www.cdc.gov/genomics/info/perspec...

Look at Alaska Natives. They are genetically predisposed to obesity, however are quite healthy while being obese. This is because environmentally speaking, they had to have the extra fat to stay warm and survive.
