What do you consider chronically obese? I myself am obese and have been for most of my life. I am now pregnant with my third baby and have had very successful pregnancies. I actually enjoy being pregnant. I have never had any problems except with my sugar. My children are very healthy and they are actually very slim. My 7 year old son weighs about 50 lbs and is very active and my 2 year old daughter weighs about 25 lbs. She was a very big baby when she was born but that is the only time that she was big.
my friend was 500 pounds and she had a successful pregnancy had to be c section but the baby was fine and she did fine too....... I was 290 when I had my daughter and I did ok other then my blood pressure spiking to dangerous leverl but once it was over i was fine and so was the baby.
If you mean "did she have a healthy baby," the answer is yes. It is very possible to have a healthy child if you are obese. But the pregnancy itself can be quite difficult for the mother. There is a high risk of gestational diabetes, and you may have some problems with high blood pressure as well.
I know a few women that are 450+ that had heathy baby
sometime it is not the weight that is the factor but other problem
Good luck
Yes, I work with a girl she is 54 years old and clinically obese, she is around 6 ft. tall and weighs around 775lbs. She found out that she was pregnant six years ago and has a beautiful 5 yr. old daughter now. Whom is in perfect health, besides being overweight herself. So it has to be possible, Lisa not only had weight against her but also age. I know she had horrible problems during pregnancy, gestational diabetes and extreme hypertension. She was on bed rest from 8 mo. on, and weekly stress tests from 6 mo. on. So I guess anything is possible. Best of luck finding the answer you were looking for, hope this helps.
It is possible but not healthy for mother or baby. Losing weight will increase your chance of conceiving and also will help with the health of the mother and baby during pregnancy.
