Don't know where you heard this, but lemon water 1/2 hour before meals does stimulate the body's production of certain digestive enzymes. Check out the internet or library for help with overall dietary improvements, combine this with more exercise (spring, summer and beautiful fall make this realistic), and you're in a good starting place to combat the belly fat issue. A set of Pilates exercises in the morning will do more to reduce ab settlement of fat. A long walk will also help.
