Why is it we pay so much to eat healthy when our nation is facing and obesity epidemic?

im serious! you can go to Mcdonalds and pay 1$ for a double cheeseburger and be remotely full or you can be health conscious and go to Subways and pay $6.50 for a foot long sub or even more at Quiznos..... Or try shopping at Trader Joes you will pay twice as much as you do at Ralphs or Albertsons........ our Federeal govt. should intervene and try taxing fat foods instead of health foods!!!

I partially agree with you cause I think the obesity problem is a combined result of poor diet and not enough exercise. Besides, simply adding tax to fast food restaurant won't help, it is always the consumer who is paying the price.
However, I do think the government has the power and responsibility to educate and assist people.
I agree!!
If someone is on financial support from the gov't, all they can afford is unhealthy food, which gives them health problems costing the gov't even more money!! The price of buying a bottle of water is about the same price as buying pop/soda, depending on where you buy it. That just isn't right.
