What are some reasons and examples that makes u think that parents are to blame for the epidemic of obesity?

well, one reason I think they are to blame is because they are the ones with the money and they make the chose to buy junk food or healthy food for there kids.my parents all ways buy the healthy food, and it's rare to see junk food in our home.I glad that my parents care, and because they care I'm the skinniest girl in my class.plus they got me use to hating junk food.great Question.
They are not. Well, not really. Society expects women to work, our country is built this way. So who is home placing a plate of fruit in front of a child instead of chips?

Who is making fresh veggie dinners? Who has the free time to do all the shopping and prep work it takes?

What woman wants to risk her husband dumping her for a trophy wife and having to go to work after 20 years of housewifing.

I could go on and on...don't get me started!
Besides medically having a reason to be obese, i think parents are totally at fault for childhood obesity . You eat what your parents eat. Until they are old enough to drive themselves and get fast food you control their eating habits. I think in order for someone to eat healthy the whole family has to eat healthy. It would be unfair for Susie to eat salad and chicken while her parents are eating burgers and fries!
Well, most are. I see parents all the time let their kids oder those fried chicken thingies and French fries. PLUS a kiddie cup of coke. This was never allowed in my house. Now, as I'm a teen, I think that eating an entire meal of fried stuff is disgusting. I need to have some sort of vegetable or fruit.
Parents choose the food the kids eat. Who else is responsible. However, when my kids were in school, instead of sandwiches, I sent my kids with oatmeal, or soup and a hot dog, or heated leftovers from last night's dinner, and the teachers called children's aid on me because they thought I was feeding my kids improperly.
well fat people tend to have fat kids, the kids learn a seditary life style that there parents have. active and fit parents teach there kids to be active and they tend to be less likely to be obese because the learn this active lifestyle. so to end the obesity epidemic i would say the best answer is to stop ******* fat people.
There is a new study out now showing that parents who force children to eat contribute to their being overweight.
If the parents don't eat healthy foods and set good examples, and bring their kids out for fast food and junk food, it's the parents' fault. A child has no discernment.
Parents who keep the kid inside parked in front of the TV/computer because of fear of sexual predators contribute to obesity due to lack of exercise. Same with driving the kid door-to-door to school instead of walking. Kids don't even walk to bus stops anymore, the bus stops at every house.
That said, I'm not implying parents are 100% to blame--just that they CONTRIBUTE.
