Do people eat to fill needs or voids in their lives even if they are not at risk for obesity?

Do people eat to fill needs or voids in their lives even if they are not at risk for obesity?

Yes, many many people eat to comfort themselves -- it has nothing to do with obesity or even eating disorders, and is something even thin, healthy people do from time to time. If you feel like you often eat because you have a void in your life, and you are concerned about it, I'd encourage you to seek counseling from a mental health professional. They can help you learn other ways to feel better and fill that void than turning to food. Source(s): I'm a medical librarian.
