Your honest views on obesity? |
Your honest views on obesity? Really sad: *Some folks are just genetically predisposed to it. **I am. **I work out for at least 1.5 hours per day, six days per week. **I've been in really great shape for about the last couple of years, in fairly good shape (active as all get-out) for the past 35 yrs. **I watch what I eat, go to fast food places only if everything else is closed, and if there's no food in the house (about three or four times per year, IF that). **It's really a constant struggle to fight my genes, but I really don't like the alternative. *Transfats are a slow death, as are preprocessed foods. **Learn to cook for yourself. **The closer your diet is to vegetarian, the better off you'll be. *My 12 yr. old son is obese. **Super active ***At least 1.5 hours of exercise per day, five days per week. ****Bicycling, calisthenics, martial arts, etc. **We only eat freshly prepared food (I make all of the meals). **There are NO unhealthy snacks in the house (I do all of the grocery shopping). **Time to see the pediatrician. Absent any serious physiological issues (i.e., hormone imbalances, etc.), I really believe that anyone can beat down their genetic predispositions with a sensible diet (NO fast food!), and regular (at least five days per week) vigorous exercise. (;=] Source(s): Former obese dude. Too heavy to play junior high football in the 1970's. Working out /martial arts for the past 30+ yrs. It's unhealthy and shows the person has little self esteem. I'm glad I'm not....life is hard enough as is I just don't understand how children can be dying of starvation on one side of the world while people are literally, eating themselves to death on the other. Fat people who were born fat are okay with me, but fat people who became fat over time are the kind of people that get on my nerves. everyone's made differently and no one should judge another person just because they're obese |
