every african country thats got data is more obese than the USA.

Your second link was a survey of "1,000 homes" in ONE African country - Swaziland, where MILLIONS of people live. A survey of "1000 homes" isn't going to cut it, especially considering how poor Swaziland is. Per capita, America does have a hugely greater incidence of obesity than Africa. A higher incidence of obesity, in fact, than any other country in the world. (Check the WHO indexes).

I'm not sure at all what your point is in posting this question, but believe me, the famine in Africa is immense. And the corruption, the genocide in Darfur... and our President sitting on his a*s letting our soldiers die in a civil war rather than stop this holocaust... well, it's just sick. And to see America following allowing behind and allowing it to happen is even worse, though there are many who fight for the civil rights of others.

Yes, there are heavy people in Africa, but you need to check these "surveys" by the size of the two places (Afr. and USA) - and by the fact that Africa is a continent. There are MANY rich and corrupted entities in Africa, just like here. In fact, it is interesting to note that the World Health Organization has Swaziland as only 1.2% obese. I think you need to re-read the surveys you are utilizing and get rid of the ones that barely study 1% of a population. Surveying 1,000 people in a country of more than a million doesn't really tell us anything. It's like surveying a thousand people in Mississippi, Alabama, and West Virginia (our most obese states) speak for the entire country's obesity. Leaving out CO, HI and MA (the leanest states) is completely ridiculous. Such surveying is NOT indicative of anything - but WHO's ranking of 1.2% of the population in Swaziland being overweight does take everything into account. I just want to point out the facts to you before you really believe any of this hoopla. The WHO have declared the US the most obese country in the world, and it is based on statistical fact. Hope this helps.

P.S. I love your questions and answers and I know you're not writing this to incite anyone. I believe that you would want to know the facts.
Are you kidding.Have you ever scene whole tribes on TV because of starvation in america & nicole ricci & her friends do nOt count!!hahalol
usa!!!
You know the answer
Whoop-de-do, Swaziland has some Obese people. USA for the win
So what's your point, Africa has fat people, so being fat is ok?
Fat people are a huge strain on our society and they're basically killing themselves in much the same way smokers and druggies do.
If your point is that Africans aren't starving to death from lack of food, that's probably true, most of them aren't or they would be mostly dead by now, but they're still a growing population.
Some folks need a cause to simultaneously make us feel guilty and also redistribute wealth. Voila, Africa.
I'm sure, even if everyone in Africa was obese, it would still be America's fault and America would still have to pony up some dough to fix the problem.
i have to completely agree with thrice baked here, really think about it, the U.S. being a country and Africa being a continent and from all of my own experiences i would have to say do take these into consideration.
