Is obesity the main cause for woman to be infertile? |
Im 27 years old and married for 3 yrs.I am 1.62m tall and weighs a hefty 90kg.I've been trying to lose some weight all these years but still in vain. And Im very worried coz Im still not pregnant.Alerady seen several doctors and they prescribed me some pills to make my mense regular..but still Im not pregnant..Im very very sad coz my family and friends always ask me when Im going to have a baby.I really envy my sisters in laws coz they alerady have children.. No, and obesity is the number one health problem in America. Just about everywhere you go in America, you see fat people. I think because of the food, amount of food and what's in content, and lack of exercise. Do you have Polycystic Ovary Disease? Look it up. It can affect obese women and their fertility. There's treatment and losing weight does help. Good luck! Being obese can stop periods. have you ever wondered if its the man who is infertile?? I really don't believe weight has anything to do with it, but your weight problem could be a low thyroid which will prevent conception Actually, obesity is a minor cause of infertility. Congenital defect is the top cause and untreated uterine infection is next. Half of infertility is the guy and his swimmers. You could try losing 10% of your weight and see if it kickstarts your ovulation. weight can be one of many predisposing factors as to why you hav nt fallen pregnant. best to go and see your GP or well women's clinic and they will maybe do some tests and give you some advice. good luck! No obesity is not the main cause of infertility in women. BUT other health conditions that tend to stem from being obese factor into conditions that lead to infertility. Health problems such as PCOS and high blood sugar and diabetes are directly related to fertility problems mostly related to ovulation and progesterone production. But there are many obese women that get preg. and deliver healthy babies. Most women that have infertility problems are generally not obese. It depends more on what conditions you have family history etc. A doc. will want to get your health in check before giving you fertility treatment and if your weight is a part of that problem he/she will address that also. But once your health issues are corrected you should be fine. |
