Eye Allergies, need a good med. Any suggestions? |
I have really bad eye allergies and nothing works for me. I've tried everything form Visine for allergies to Claratin. I need something that works fast, will turn my eyes from blood red to white, and is inexpenisve. I also have no idea what causes my reactions, but it is worse during the day than at night. when you are taking allergy medicine and are seeing no results, there are at least the three possibilities before: 1. you might not be allergic, you have an eye condition that needs a doctor asap. if it's allergies, your eyes should itch. if not, see a doctor now. 2. you might have STRONG allergies, and no medication will help you unless you stop being around or eating things that trigger your allergies. 3. your body might not have any reaction to over-the-counter allergy medicines, and you might need allergy shots or other alternatives. I strongly suggest that you go the doctor at least once to figure out a direction to start your own research on what is causing your condition and how to avoid it. if you want it to be inexpensive, just go once and do your own research from then on. get samples of medication from your doctor before you buy is a good way to save money too. if your eyes are bloody red, your condition is really bad, you might have conditions that will cause you to go blind. remember that if it's allergies, it should itch. so if it's not itchy, do not risk leaving it alone. you need to reconsider your budget. on the other hand, it could be things around you you are allergic to. allergic ppl are usually allergic to certain trees, animals (fur esp cats) and dust (this is the most common). it's also more common that eye allergies are from the environment and not food, but there could be exeptions. to find out what you are allergic to, keep a journal of what you are around, what you eat throughout the day, and how your eyes are reacting to these things. when you see a pattern, try to avoid things that give you an reaction. start protecting your eyes immediately by wearing glasses, sun glasses, face masks (just the simple kind that covers your nose and mouth. also, change your pillow and sheets to see if those are things that are causing you trouble. check the materials of clothes you wear and etc... if you are experiencing allergies, and it's so bad that no medication is helping, it could be from things you are around for a long time: your bed sheets and pillow, office plants, dust found in your surrounding, and etc. you can also buy a filter to start clearing up dust around you. good luck on your condition, i wish you the best! Source(s): born with really bad allergies, almost died. got allergy shots, took all kinds of medication, went to all kinds of doctors, and did a lot of research Check with your Doctor. They have some good prescription drops. talk to a doc. rhinocort might help (it's a Rx nasal spray--helps for eye allergies too though) i used to have bad eye & sinus allergies & allergy induced asthma, but i started allergy immunotherapy a couple years ago & have only mild sinus allergy symptoms now--no eye allergies! and hardly have to take any meds (only to prevent the asthma). so the shots might help, if they're really bad. I know what you mean, my son had his first asthma attack two months before he turned two and when he was 8, the doctor finally sent us to an allergy specialist. He was poked 99 times in his little back to tell us he was allergic to NOTHING! I did research to other options then drugs and found a solution .. he has been attack free for almost 4 years now. It didn't cost me tons of money, I didn't have to spend extra money on some magic jungle juice or any other quirky thing .. I am very happy with the results and so is he.
