How do you get rid of dark circles under the eyes from allergies?

How do you get rid of dark circles under the eyes from allergies?

Are you on any type of allergy medicine? My 7 year old son had the dark circles from his allergies which would cause him to not sleep well. We took him to an allergist who prescribed Nasonex. This did work, he slept better, and the dark circles went away. The only problem is that the Nasonex was causing him to get a bloody nose all of the time. So I discontinued using it and switched to Hyland Brands Hayfever Tablets. They are all natural, non-addictive, and safe for children. You put the tabs under your tongue to dissolve and within 30 min. your nose is clear. You can use them every 4 hours and they work great. I ordered mine online, just go to "Hyland Brands".

Other than that you can use over the counter allergy medicine but they may cause you to be drowsy. I needed something without all of the side effects. I don't need my son to be falling asleep at school or running to the nurses office because his nose is bleeding!

Good Luck!

I have the same problem, I just hide it with concealer. Nothing seems to help.
The dark circle are from inflamation causing a backflow of blood causing puffiness and "bruising". Decongestants and antihistamines can sometimes help, but usually make you so lethargic that you don't care about your eyes anymore.
Try to figure out what's causing the allergic reation and go from there.
I think the best would be stay away things that causes allergies... it will go away after 3-4 months...

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.
