Usually, it could also be pink eye, you may want to see a doc, if it persists
Generally if just one of his eyes are swollen that wouldn't indicate allergies. It could be an infection starting like pink eye for instance. Just keep an eye on it. If it gets worse I would take him to see a doctor.

there are several reasons why your son's eye is swollen; he could have been bitten by something, an eye cyst ( take a hot compress wrapped in a towel or hot wash cloth and place on his eye), he could have been hit by some one, allergies. Try going to the doctor and have them check it out. It could also be pink eye, which is highly contagious.
