What type of allergy is it if your dog has pink around his eyes sometimes and on his paws?grass allergies? |
i heard that pitbulls have allergies worst than other dogs is this true? he has had them alot here lately and it is around his eyes they get pink and sometimes his eyes too. and now his paws are pink and raw. i wondered if it was from the grass. he is not a outside dog. There are many breeds which get allergies more easily and more frequently than pitbulls. Regardless, usually the first suspected allergy causer is food. Wheat and corn are the main ingredients to watch out for. Your dog may also have flea dermatitis. Even if your dog doesn't have fleas, one bite from a flea will cause a terrible allergic reaction. Despite the source of the allergy, the only real cure can be found at the vets office. Most likely your dog will receive a steroid or cortisone shot along with some medication that will have to be administered at home. After this is done think about changing to a different food, one that doesn't contain CORN, WHEAT or SOY. If, after doing this for several weeks, your dog continues to have allergy issues you will need to try to solve this problem in a process of elimination. Best wishes to you both! I'm so glad he's not an outside dog. You should call your vet and ask what it may be. your dog must have been out side or somthing and ran in to the altyer frog `` this effects all of the sensitive areas of the dog such as the eyes ,paws, nose, belly ``my advice to you is to see a vet quickly he has pink eye or running eye or a cold in his eye |
