What's the best glucosamine for osteoarthritis?

I'm 33 and have osteoarthritis in my neck, back, and hip. I was taking Naproxin but got an ulcer from it. Does glucosamine work?

My husband participates in martial arts, and used to get injuries often in joints. He started taking chondroitin, and now has much fewer injuries. Most of the supplements you will find have both chondroitin and glucosamine in them. I would recommend trying that. Hope this helps!

Glucosamine is very popular and benefits a LOT of people, and as the other answerer mentioned, Glucosamine and Chondroitin are very commonly together because they compliment each other. However, there are several natural ingredients that are good for joint health in general. The most popular (aside from Glucosamine and Chondroitin) are Microlactin, Tart Cherries, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid, Litozin (Danish Rose Hips), and Bromelain.
The only thing to really watch out for is allergies. Glucosamine is typically from Shellfish and Microlactin is from milk. As long as you're not allergic to those, you should have no problem. Good luck!

It will possibly help with pain. Do not think, however that it will cure anything. It is so inexpensive that it is worth a shot. I would consider a product with MSM and/or chondrotin as well.

If you buy any of these products, buy only quality brands. In fact, go to this page which reviews some of these products from the major brands: http://www.nutritionaltree.com/reviews/j...

use glucosamine sulfate (not hydrochloride)
with chondroitin
msm with the combination is ok but not necessary

it will take 3 to 6 weeks before results are noticed for most people
