I have chronic pain 24/7 and i wondered if there is anyone out there suffering the same with osteoarthritis? |
Have suffered since i was 17yrs old with pain every day people like me suffer in silence as i think you have to feel this sort of pain to be able to the how bad it really can be.So it would be nice to talk to someone about it Hi taradog. I have osteoarthritis in my spine, hips and knees; recently galloped into my neck and shoulders. We have to stay silent because there is no "cure", we will not get better. People ask "how are you" and if you are like me you reply: "not too bad thank you". Even those closest to us are told the same because we care and don't want them to feel powerless to help. To have suffered this constantly from the age of 17 must have really impacted on your life. There is no escape, hardly any relief. Impossible to get much sleep; it can eat into your very soul if you are not careful. I find injections can give some respite for a while. It sounds as if you are having a bad "flare up" at the moment and it is getting to you today. Yes it is bad and there are times when I can't think straight due to the constant gnawing. But I am lucky. I have a man who loves me, friends and family and I can still hobble around. Thinking of you sweet, we have to have a sense of humour to help us through. I am never sure whether its the floorboards creaking or me walking! My mother has this and she does hurt all the time. The doctor told her that walking to strengthen the surrounding muscle would help. Join the club honey x There are tons of people just like you but you need to see a pain management doc to get your pain under control. Call and make an appointment to see a pain management doc now and get some help. You are not alone. There is never a moment that I'm not in pain. It's a combo of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and depression. Part of it is from playing too hard (tomboy) as a teen/young twenties and having lots and LOTS of old injuries. The other part is genetics. My family is cursed with depression all the way around. It sucks. Do you see a doctor about this pain? If not, you should. And I don't mean one of those narcotic-pushing doctors....I mean a doctor who really MANAGES pain for their patients. They will have information on support groups for your area. You aren't the only one with this condition. Please get some help. If you say, "Oh, I can't" or "Oh, it wouldn't help", then the only conclusion is that you LIKE suffering and you want to be a martyr. Well, that's like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. i have it my knee, have since i was 19 and in a motorbike accident. pm me or email me and we can chat x |
