If someone is receiving disability income for osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome, could they get into? |
trouble for babysitting in their home? I think you have received some good answers. You can earn a certain amount while collecting disability income. Of course it is a matter of conscience as to whether you report it (or how much you report) to the SSA. As one respondent mentioned, the parents you babysit for may claim the expense for income tax purposes. However, are you sure babysitting is the way to go? How old are these "babies"? With the disabilities you mention, can you lift and hold infants, run around after toddlers, smack a pre-teen (I'm joking)? Would you be taking medication that might affect your ability to watch someone's children? Could you afford to lose your benefits if it comes to the attention of the SSA that you earn more than you should? Please weigh the pros and cons. Source(s): http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/abo... If you are getting paid you have to inform Social Security of your income and they could lose their Social Security check. Probably not. no, you are still allowed to make a limited amount of money per year m If your drawing Social Security Disability you aren't suppose to make a dime, if they find out they will cut your disability off if you are making money and the party you baby sit for reports your earning on their tax return. Your suppose to be totally and permanently disabled to earn any money. |
