Anyone with Osteoarthritis taking Arthritec? |
My doctor prescribed me Arthritec (sp) for Osteoarthritis. I've been taking Diclofenac, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm a 47 year old woman and my doc says my osteoarthritis is that of a 70 yr old person. It has (and still is) caused me so much pain and mostly neurological problems. I've had a few surgeries in various places in the past 11 months alone. Can anyone identify with this disease? Please email me via Y!Answers for more information. I have osteo arthritis in the severe degenerative stages. I've had surgery twelve times in five years. I have eight cadaver bones in my spine, including my cervical spine. I have eight of my own hip bones in my spine, 32 screws and 32 pieces of wire. They put two cages in my lower back due to degenerating, all the time now, it's going out again. It just won't heal right. The pain for over thirteen years now has been more then I can handle lately. I take Vicodin, the doc wants to give me something stronger but, I've refused, and also Norontain. I just finished with the neurologist he was giving me spinals but, to no avail. He said my lower spine has water in several spots and is going into stenosis again. Along with this I may have an infection down there, the sciatic nerve sometimes is so bad it makes me cry. He stopped the shots in the lower spine and I'm going for the new type of nerve implant, an electrical implant that is suppose to quiet the nerve pain, I have to go in every two months and have it recharged. Jerry Lewis has one implanted and I've read about several other that have this in to a great improvement, I'm looking forward to it and a life of no pain. Ask your doctor about this, it's new on the market. My daughter is a surgical nurse, they put these in anyplace on the body that has nerve damage, she says they're having great results with them. One lady with a crushed ankle and severe nerve damge, they put one in her ankle, it stopped the pain right away.
