What is early-onset generalized osteoarthritis and is it associated with Muscular Dystrophy?

I don't know if it's related to MD, I do not have MD but I do have early-onset osteo.

Basically, it means you have joint damage and calcium deposits that are atypical of your age and physical health...and "generalized" means it is not specific to 1-2 locations. In my case, it was 5 locations, but they still called it generalized.

My knee doctor says I had the knee of an 80 year old at 13....shudder.

There are some things that help, a lot. Keeping a normal weight, exercise, hot water therapy and pain meds are a start...
No it is not related to MD.
There are some Dystrophies which exhibit joint problems but it is not osteoarthritis.
If your doctor was looking for dystrophies you would be refered to a neurologist and be going through alot of testing.
Hope this helps
have nothing to do with Md.
