Do Osteopathic Doctors (DO) give or works with natural remedies or herbal medicine? Yes and no. They are medically trained doctors who believe in treating the whole body, not just one symptom at a time. If a condition arises that requires full on medical treatment, then an herbal remedy would not be prescribed. Most DO's that I've dealt with don't usually prescribe herbal remedies, but do lean towards vitamins and supplements more heavily. A Homeopathic Practitioner would be someone who works with natural remedies and herbal medicine...at least here in the States. Source(s): Medical Billing/Collections Specialist for 12yrs.
