Why are people who smoke and excessively drink alcohol more likely to get osteoporosis?

Why are people who smoke and excessively drink alcohol more likely to get osteoporosis?

That is a very good question. Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption are both related to nutritional deficiencies and decreased levels of activity (this one isn't always true), both of which predispose a person to developing things like osteoporosis. Diet and lifestyle choices have a huge impact on whether or not a person will develop osteoporosis.

Keep in mind that people who smoke or drink excessively usually develop many different types of health problems.
