Can you be born with osteoporosis?

Can you be born with osteoporosis?

It is a rare condition.
But in infants it called rickets which caused by Vitamin D deffeciency and inadequate exposure to sunlight

There is a condition known as osteogenesis imperfecta, which is an osteoporosis syndrome. It is an inherited condition. It is associated with varying degrees of bone fragility, deformity and fracture; along with hearing loss and discolored teeth.

Those who have it may be limited in their activities to protect themselves from harm, as well as placed on medication to increase the density of the bone to help prevent fracture. Splints/braces/surgery may also be used.

Dancer 17 is more right in my opinion. Rickets, like osteoporosis, is acquired due mostly to insufficient Calcium and Vitamin D, so you aren't really 'born with it'. Osteogenesis Imperfecta is chromosomal, so you are born with it.

No, osteoporosis is a disease contracted as you get older.
