Osteoporosis?

May adolescent girls and and women consume large quantities of soft drinks or tea and coffee rather than milk. How could this affect calcium intake? How could this relate to the development of osteoporosis later in life? What can women do to prevent osteoporosis? Keep in mind that not everyone can eat dairy foods because of allergies to milk and/or lactose intolerance.

Osteoporosis prevention starts with being active as we age sometimes calcium supplements may be needed es pically for those who don't have an intake of natural calcium.,but this should be mointere by a physician as too much calcium in the blood is as bad as to little. Most people believe that obese women get osteoporosis but it is actually the opposite. Men can develop this as well. End result stay as active as you can and calcium is in other foods besides dairy products. When your age warrants get a bone density test to se where you stand , osteoporosis can be revered with medication. Source(s): Certified in Bone density test for Osteoporosis
A good way to try and prevent osteoporosis would be to take supplements of vitamin D and calcium.
There are many ways of getting calcium other than through dairy products. Dark leafy greens and vegetables and fruits, etc.
Another thing to keep in mind though, is that acidic foods, like meat make your body's pH level more acidic, so to bring it back to neutral pH, your body uses calcium from your bones, thus taking away needed calcium. So if you eat an acidic diet you need even more calcium to balance it out.
Plus, from 25-35 are women's biggest bone-density building years, so the more calcium you can get, along with good excersise, will help out immensely in your older adult years, when bones density begins to decline. There are calcium supplements you can take too, but be sure they are good quality and your body can actually use them. Best way to do this is to contact a Naturopathic or homeopathic doctor.
Hope this helps!
