Osteoporosis?

feel bad in waist/hip part, hard to straight up, especially in morning time, had X-ray test, report says it's osteoporosis, doctor prescribed to take Forsamax + D and ask to take calcium in addition

What is confusing here is that osteoporosis is not necessarily a painful condition. Infact, it often goes unnoticed until a compression fracture happens. It can be very painful in the very late states, but again, usually because of a long history of fractures.

Pain, or nocioception, is often caused by problems with soft tissues...discs, nerves, muscles, tendons. All of these which usually have no evidence on an x-ray. Arthritis, however, would show up on an x-ray and IS a painful condition in itself.

While it is important to have your osteoporosis treated, I do not feel that this necessarily explains your pain. If arthritis is not present, I highly recommend referal to an orthopedist. If the condition is felt to be due to a bulging or herniated disc or a muscular problem, this may include referral to physical therapy to correct the problem. An MRI may also be warranted to evaluate for a herniated lumbar disc, or rule out other condtions such as avascualr necrosis of the hip.

I would recommend further work-up. Source(s): I am a physical therapist.
I am confused. What is your question?
OK. Listen to your doctor. And your question is...?
You have arthritis and osteoporosis
Certainly if you have osteoporosis ,the Fosamax and calcium therapy would help ,but osteoporosis in Males is not common and also should'nt really have any symptoms as you describe . It is sort of a silent disease . Arthritis ? Slipped disc ?
Osteoporosis- decrease bone mass, you need more calcium and should drink milk, your more susceptible in injury. exercise enjoy life;-)
