Is osteoporosis reversible?? |
is this disease actually reversible? all i can find is about prevention! :( and does anyone know how long a person has to take the depo shot before it can cause this disease???? i'm only 29 and my teeth have always been in great condition. i just stopped taking depo a month or so ago and all of a sudden my tooth just crumbled lastnight!! :( i took depo for 2 years. i'm not saying it caused it, but i am curious to the real cause???? this advice that i will give you is controversial and WILL be the exact opposite of what your doctor may say. If you are suggested to take fosamax i would stay away from it. New research is showing that the long term effects of the drug are highly detrimental to dentition due to destruction of bones in the mouth. Fosamax is a widely used product but its long term effects have not been fully seen. I know this is a jump from your question but i just though i would let you know as an fyi. USC is doing some incredible research on the drug and its effects on dentition and the oral cavity go to denist and they will tell you what going on with your teeth It would be only after you have CT scan done and professional consult that any plan of treatment can be suggested to arrest the problem or reverse it. Everyone is not a good candidate for every kind of treatment. Since you are young you still have good hope. |
