I have osteoporosis and arthritis in my spin which is degeneriting i am 53 woman i am on oxycontin?

100mg a day this is making me so tired and off my food and really depressed i cant walk very far my doctor just increases them if i see her but i feel so old when i mention any new things like putting silicon in spin shes says she never heard of this or any thing i mention is their any one else i could get to take me seriously and get off the pills or any doctor that might help please ive just got through this winter and dread the next one i also use a tens machine ,creams ,and excersise.

Do you take a bisphosphonate drug - ie alendronate (fosamax), risedronate (actonel) - these can cause bone regrowth in osteoporosis and some patients find can ease pain as well as reduce risk of fractures. If you do not already take one i'd discuss it with your doctor.

Also consider a calcium and vitamin D supplement if your diet is low in calcium. This can strengthen the available bone. Source(s): pharmacist
sorry, i don't know the answer to your question but start checking out alternative remedies etc.

Keep an awareness of con-merchants but if you find something, like acupuncture, that works- then stick with it!
