Does anyone know if osteoporosis can cause neuropathy? |
I have neuropathy in my legs and feet, my diabetes is under controled but my neuropathy is getting worst all the time. I fell and broke my hip 5 weeks ago and found out I have osteoporosis. Could this be what causing my neuropathy to get worst? I am in stage 3 osteoporosis. Thanks Lonnie Yes, my friend has Osteopeorosis and I have Ostio-Arthritis and they are both degenatory deceases. I also have Fibromyagia and Sciatica. Lots of Calcium needed Lonnie and more Vitamen's. Osteoporosis is loss in bony substances producing brittlelness an softness of the of bones. My friend however, has it in one knee, where mineare all over. Therefore fear of falling, that's why I use a cane. If you search the web there's a great place all over the world called Ceragem it's a centre that is free, has beds with infro-red heat and youcan get a free massage back 1/2hr. front 10 min. there all over the world, check for one near you. I went 4 6 months and 6 days a week. Its a bed with rollers gives off heat you feel Great After! Always FREE! Hope I helped a bit? Summer Source(s): exp The diabetes is causing the neuropathy. The stress of your current illness and being partially or fully bed ridden is a factor. But it is your underlying condition, exacerbated by illness. It is not directly linked to osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor. |
