I was diagnosed with "mild wrist joint arthrosis" and "osteoporosis of the wrists". Prognosis?

I am a 57 yo male. Pain began about three months ago and now seems to worsen each week. Now affects my daily activities.
I DO have Carpal Tunnel, but this is NOT the source of my wrist pain.

Well, hopefully you have consulted a doctor about some sort of pain treatment. Usually for mild problems there is no need for surgery. The osteoporosis is especially odd if only effecting the wrists. Usually osteoporosis is seen as affecting the entire body, and not just one specific area. If this is the case, perhaps a calcium supplement would begin rebuilding some of the bone structure, and give more strength to the wrist bones. Also something like Osteoflex may be a good idea to kinda boost the cartilage strength and gliding ability. However, consult a doctor before doing any of the previous suggestions Source(s): Med student
Perhaps you need to go back to the person that diagnosed you with this problem and ask them for treatments. There are treatments to prevent the osteoporosis from getting worse. Hand surgeons are doing replacements of arthritic joints in then hands all the time due to pain. There are braces, shots, meds... everything to help out with your pain. Please see a hand surgeon = orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty for treatment as soon as possible.
I am sorry that you are dealing with this.

Usually the joint problems if caused by osteoporosis can be helped by increasing bone mass. There are more and more new drugs that deal with bone mass loss. Also, exercise helps to increase bone mass. The truth is that your body never stops growing. Your bones gain and loose mass constantly.
see a doctor and see if you have nodules in the wrist that need popped and / or removed.
try bovine cartilage in capsule form General nutrition center usually carries it also Glucosimine-chondroitin which is an extract from shark cartledge you should notice some relief in a week or two.I didn't notice any adverse side effects.
