Osteoporosis and Disc Replacement Surgery?

My father has Osteoporosis which he has had for a few years now. He has lived and worked with it but a few months ago he was diagnosed with a crushed disc.
The doctor asked him if he wanted to sign of work but he obviously can't since he still has to pay the mortgage.

My question is even though he has Osteoporosis (which isn't severe) is he still eligible for disc replacement surgery?

Have you asked if they are going to "replace" his disk'
They may fuse it, take bone from his hip or use donor bone and put it in the disk area.
Only the doc would know by looking at his ct scan.
Fusing is not a big thing I had thee done, went in surgery at noon, woke up it was dark, had to urinate, got back in bed woke up about seven, ate breakfast, went to the bathroom ( a requirement) and was home before ten o'clock.
