For the doctors out there, if your pap smear was normal, can you still have ovarian cancer?

Take it from someone who just went through this... you CAN still have ovarian cancer. I was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and my pap smear was completely NORMAL! After that they found a tumor the size of my fist enveloping my left ovary. If you think you may have ovarian cancer, you need to get to your doctor immediately! Ovarian cancer usually grows very rapidly and you can go downhill fast!

The pap smear is for detecting cervical cancer only. There is a blood test offered that can detect ovarian cancer. So the answer is yes.
