The vaccine against ovarian cancer? |
Did you get one? I have just started using contraception for acnee problems. I never had sex, and I want to have the vaccine done. Do they interfear? Yes, cervical cancer I think you mean the vaccine against cervical cancer. It's actually a vaccination against a lot of strains of HPV, the Human Papilloma Virus, which is often the cause of cervical cancer. The contraceptive pill won't interfere with the vaccine. I believe it's a series of three injections. It's a great idea to get the vaccination. Go ahead and get it done if you have the opportunity. If you're here in Australia, I think anyone can get it, but they suggest it's most useful to people under about 26, if I remember correctly. I think, here in Aust., it might be free for people under a certain age, but I'm not sure. Check with your doctor. It would be worth it anyway. Do you mean the (HPV) cervical cancer vaccination? It's been quite common in young women in the countries where it's been rolled out. Talk to your doctor but I'm pretty sure you can get it while you're on the pill and it won't interfere. And before you've had sex is the best time to do it. I am turning 13, and my it was compulsory at my school. It is a great vaccine and I would reccomend going to your doctors to get more info. Rememeber, it is better getting the vaccine, than the disease. |
