Biopsy - Ovarian Cancer? |
Hi, I've been having very irregular period for almost a year. I've been having brown spotting / discharge on and off for the whole time. My last normal period was 1/29 for 5 days. On 3/6, I had a very light period for 4 days (used only pantiliners) On 3/27, same type of "period" that last for about 4 days. I had pap smears, transvaginal ultrasound and all came back normal. My dr put me on birth controll to regulate my period then on 4/7, I started bleeding again until now, very light (sometimes brown and sometimes red) He will perform biopsy if birth control doesn't work. I wonder if biopsy is the only way to pick up ovarian cancer? Can ultrasound and physical exam reliable even the test result is normal? As of right know the way our technology is a biopsy is the only way to determine on ovarian cancer and no you can not rely on ultrasound or physical examination |
