How common is it to get ovarian cancer in your late 20's? Hi,In Australia there is a blood test that you can have around the same time you have a Pap smear done and it checks for Ovarian cancer,it's not cheap but my wife gets it under Medicare,it costs around $500 if you had to pay for it. Ovarian cancer is more common in post-menopausal females (fifth to seventh decade of life), but that is not to say that it couldn't occur in younger women. Certain risk factors such as early onset of puberty, nulliparity (never being pregnant), prior issues with ovaries (polycystic ovaries, cysts) high blood pressure, hypertension, smoking can increase you chances, but then again the last three risk factors increase your chances for any kind of cancer. Not uncommon at all. It is one of the more common cancers among younger women. Luckily it is treatable and youth helps a lot during cancer treatment. very common Quite uncommon. very so get tested regularly really easy |
