Ovarian cancer - symptoms?

I have recently (over the few years) been experiencing stomach bloating, not always just when I eat but intermittently I get a rock hard stomach that inflates from my usually slim frame to twice my width. I also never seem to feel full, ever.

I learned that these can be indications of Ovarian caner. I am concerned only because I've always had so much trouble with my periods - they started three years ago (I was 16, which is the late side of normal) and were bimonthly and very light until a year ago where they became heavy (as in three night time pads and a tampon being soaked through and changed hourly) and unbearably painful. This continued for six months before completely stopping until now, eight months later. (I am not pregnant as far as a multitude of tests tell me).

I'm only nineteen, and hopeing perhaps naiively that this diminishes some of the likelihood I could have Ovarian cancer, I was hoping someone could offer me more info, or perhaps an idea of what else could be wrong?

Could be endometreosis, ovarian cysts, PCOS, fibroids, or an STD.... The only way to know is get to a GYNO and get a pelvic and a trans-vaginal ultrasound and some hormone level testing. Best of luck

It could be a number of things.it sounds hormonal, your obviously not ovulating properly,it may be Endometriosis ****pain, especially excessive menstrual cramps which may be felt in the abdomen or lower back
pain during intercourse
abnormal or heavy menstrual flow
infertility
fatigue
painful urination during menstrual periods
painful bowel movements during menstrual periods
other gastrointestinal problems (i.e., diarrhea, constipation, and/or nausea)
or
it could also be an ovarian cyst (very common)

go and see your doctor to put your mind at rest, hopefully they can help you out, they will probably do a scan and maybe a laproscopy to be on the safe side, dont worry though thousands of young women go through problems with their mentrual cycle, my sister has just had a cyst burst, and i bled for a whole year non stop due to one. Not good but you are not alone and your not going to die.

please don't think the worst, it could be nothing serious, and i would advise you to see your gp, he/she will be the best person to put your mind at ease. good luck

endometriousis...it is a common issue with young women and thought to be brought on by stress and anxiety. I suggest you get the insight of a gynocologist, and if you are unsure, or got vague answers keep shopping, just go to another. What is necessary is a tiny procedure that gets a sample of tissue and tests it. If you do have it they can get you into surgury before it spreads and gets serious. Get it checked now, because just the endometriousis can be serious, I know someone who had nine surgeries and almost lost her life. While this is extreme, be forwarned and get yourself checked out and do the yearly gyno exam.
