In what gene can ovarian cancer be found? or is it chromosomal?

In what gene can ovarian cancer be found? or is it chromosomal?

Likely it is the BRCA-2 gene, the same one that can cause breast cancer. The cytokinesis of the ovarian cells when they divide, are mutating and this cell separation defect is contributing to chromosomal abberation. So it is actually both in regards to your question.

The vast majority of cancers are polygenic - many, many genes are affected by the person's environment. Simply; susceptible genes + inapropriate environmental factors => chronic disease (e.g. carcinogenesis).

The latest research shows that literally thousands of genes can be abnormal (damaged) in most cancer cells.
