Can you detect ovarian cancer by a full body ct scan? |
i had a full body scan this morning so i had it already... If it is large enough yes, though a PET scan would be a better alternative. That being said you don't need to go through so much radiation to check for an ovarian cancer, a simple ultrasound can detect masses. if it's large enough to be seen, they could really detect anything abnormal from a full body ct scan - but getting one would not be an easy task, they don't just let anyone who wants one get a ct scan, let alone a full body scan.. Its possible to detect cancer cells with ct scan. pet scan is a better choice. The pet scan show a better picture when injected with the dye they use. |
