Re-Occuring ovarian cysts...what are chances of having problems having kids or cancer?

I've had 3 cysts on 1 ovary. 1 in which was 4 cm, I went to the doctor, and with treatment (and car accident), it ruptured along with the 1 cm cysts behind it. I was fine last month and cleared of any cysts. But now the same pain I felt when I had cysts are back again. And it's on the same side where I had them the last time. I am on my period, but my right side is not giving me as much pain as my left. When I was a freshman in high school, my Mother had a hysterectomy. They found border line tumors on numerous reproductive organs along with very large cysts. I have an appt. to see my OB/GYN on May 20th. What could be causing these cysts to re-occur. I'm almost certain it's back

You sound like me, seriously! I have had 3 cysts on my ovaries...one that had ruptured and I was in such serious pain I couldn't even stand up or move. They thouhgt I had appendicitis at first...but anyways...my mom had a hysterectomy as well and my sister has Polycystic Ovarian Disease. I have wondered before if it could cause me not to be able to have kids but from knowing people who have also have cysts I have found out that it's not always true that you can't. My friend had cysts up until she had a baby and then whenever she got pregnant they went away and then after she had the baby she had to get back on birthcontrol to stop the cysts from reoccuring. So not in all cases it's not true! Cysts can be caused by too many hormones and that's why birthcontrol is usually used for them. I have been on b/c for 3 years because of them and as long as you take them right and don't miss any you will def. see an improvement in the occurances and severity of the cysts!
