How fast can ovarian cancer develop?

When i was 5 months pregnant, i had a paps smear that came back abnormal. The doctor said it could be nothing but they wanted to do a test, it turned out i could not do the test because it would cause to much bleeding. The doctor said i could wait till 6 weeks after my son was born, i ended up not going back when i was suppose too, that was about 5 months ago. Now im extremely paranoid because i have no health insurance. How long does it take to develop. im only 20 and ive heard its rare for someone so young to develop so quickly, plus they didn't actually say anything was wrong. Can someone help me put my mind at ease till i get to the doctor.

Why It Is Done
Ovarian cancer develops in one ovary but can spread to the other ovary, the uterus, and the other abdominal organs as well. The goal of the initial surgery is to remove all visible cancer. The surgery confirms the diagnosis and stages the cancer.

How Well It Works
For women with early-stage (stage IA, grade 1) ovarian cancer and low risk of the cancer progressing, surgery may be the only treatment needed. These include women whose surgery showed no tumor cells in the abdomen or in the capsule surrounding the ovary. But studies have shown an increase in survival and a reduced risk of cancer returning in women who receive chemotherapy for this early-stage cancer
