Ovarian Cancer Needle?

My mom told me the ovarian cancer needle wont work if you've had sexual intercourse, can anyone tell me why this is?

First to answer your question I need to say what Ovarian Cancer is.

Ovarian Cancer is a disease in which malignant or cancerous cells are found in the ovary. In women from 35 to 74 ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths. It is estimated that 1 out of 58 women will develop this cancer in their life time.

There is no way to prevent ovarian cancer but is able to be reduced by oral contraception (Birth control pills will reduce the risk of Ovarian cancer)

The only other way to reduce the reduce is by having your ovary taken out.

The needle is a test to see wither or not you have ovarian cancer or the symptoms of it therefore you can still take it after sex.

This is a scare tactic on your mothers behalf to see wither or not you have had sex. There is no such thing as this needle the closest thing to this needle is a blood test. If your mother has any objections towards what i have said please have her send me a email and i will answer any questions she may have towards this subject.

i am a med tec and a phlebotomist not to mention that i have been going to the gyn for 11 years and have never heard of such a thing, can you please tell us what you are talking so we may better help you.

What? Ovarian cancer needle? Do you mean the vaccine for HPV? What your mother means is that if you have sex before you get the vaccine, you could get HPV then it would be too late. You can get ovarian cancer from HPV.

your mom is talking about a shot for hpv which is how you get ovarian cancer. it is actaully 3 shots taken over a corse of time and it is like 500 dollars. They reccomend it for girls like 11 to 25 and your not supposed to take it of you have ever been sexually active because if you do have something the shot can like make it way worse or something
