Neupagin, is a medication that helps the body build up white blood cells faster, to help the body fight off infections. It does have a nasty side effect that they call bone pain because white blood cells are formed in the bone marrow and Neupagin kick starts the bone marrow into high gear. Tylenol helps alleviate what to me felt like a migraine in the small of my back. It wasn't constant while I was getting injections, at least and it was better than getting an infection, and having to get dressed every day and go get a shot, helped keep me going during chemo.
google Nuprigen

Neupogen increases white blood count and this reduces her chances of getting infections and also allows her to continue her chemo safely. The shots don't have any serious side effects compared to the side effects of most chemos and the Neupogen definitely helps fight fatigue which can make you feel like poop.
