Survival Rates for Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer? |
Has anyone gone a while with at least stage 3 ovarian cancer and survived? My mom has it (8/2006) and is on her second chemo. All the statistics on the web are depressing but she now has a positive outlook that she will beat it. But the 'recurrance' they all talk about really frightens me. Thanks! Ignore the statistics, they were never meant to be applied to individuals. Your Mom is right! Go be with her and enjoy this time. Don't worry about something that might never happen. Source(s): Experience. My son was diagnosed at 17 with stage IV abdominal sarcoma. 20 months later (and a reoccurence) and he's doing fine. Keep the faith, everyone reacts differently to chemo. My Dr's told me attitude goes a long way to beating it, 5 yrs later I'm still here!!! My mum survived 22 yrs after being told she had at most a year, fight it, fight it, fight it!! Every day the Dr's learn more about this disease, i pray we have a cure soon, but until then soldier on and NEVER give up hope for your mum!! in most cases when they find ovarian ca it is to late;however ,there is always hope, miracles and her positive outlook gives her a fighting chance, keep things up beat, loving, make her laugh,do something wild with her. The mind is a most powerful tool. God Bless |
