What are some symptoms of ovarian cancer that are not textbook symptoms?

* sense of pelvic heaviness
* vaginal bleeding
* weight gain or weight loss
* abnormal menstrual cycles
* unexplained back pain that worsens over time
* increased abdominal girth
* non specific gastrointestinal symptoms:
o vague lower abdominal discomfort
o increased gas
o indigestion
o lack of appetite
o nausea and vomiting
o inability to ingest usual volumes of food
o bloating
* Additional symptoms that may be associated with this disease:
o increased urinary frequency/urgency
o excessive hair growth
o Fluid buildup in the lining around the lungs (Pleural effusions)

You should by the textbook symptoms, that'll be smart then going off anything else that can relate to a whole other sickness.
The trouble with ovarian cancer is that it doesn't have many early symptoms. Abdominal pain, bloating and unexplained weight loss MAY be symptoms, but obviously many other conditions can cause those things too, so it's hard to detect it early. There isn't any reliable screening test for the disease, either.

this is an area of extreme importance... better not to self diagnose and or using nontraditional approaches.but if this is for a report as such... your pet maybe a very important indicator of cancer(s).. they can reportedly smell the cancer cells... also i've heard about a saliva swab test that works well.
It may be textbook...but the big one is feeling bloated. That's how my mom found out...she has stage IV ovarian cancer. Basically if you are over 60/menopausal you need to be very aware of your body and any abnormalities. When something seems off, see a specialist. Ovarian cancer is a tough one to detect...my mother thought she had been drinking too many carbonated beverages. So really, text book symptoms are there for a reason...the unfortunate part is that the symptoms are not readily apparent.
