If you want to run a longer than a 5k and still support your charity you can set up a donation website. Go to this site and it is pretty easy to set up.

Then email all your family and friends and tell them you are running a marathon to raise money for your cause. Recently a friend of mine did this for a friend of ours who was a young healthy mother and died way to young. She raised over twenty thousand because her story was so heart wrenching and everyone would donate and send it on. Houston鈥檚 marathon is usually early January so you missed it for this year, but you could always train for a fall marathon in another city. Here is a list of upcoming marathons.
