Has anyone got the Ovarian Cancer vaccination yet?


Isn't there a new vaccine for this? I can't decide whether to get it or not. I don't know any of my family medical history, so I am not sure if it is a concern I should have. However, I do have some female problems I'm dealing with now like missed periods. I may be at a higher risk for those cancers. Any thoughts?

Mary m is correct. It is for cervical cancer not ovarian cancer. And any person . . .no not just females . .should get this vaccine. I work in Cancer research and I believe that any parent that does not give this vaccine to their children is beyond irresponsible, as well as niave.

The HPV virus is contracted by females but it is carried by males. It is contracted through sexual activity and is only effective if it has not already been contracted.

You will soon be hearing of the other benefits of this cervical cancer vaccine, which will be extraordinary.

I could go on . . but your concern is ovarian cancer . .so do some searching on the internet to get lots more info on that.

I cannot tell you whither to get the shot or not, but i can tell you I will not be getting it. here are some helpful sites with lots of great information to help you in your decision.

My 14 year old daughter has had the vaccination. She didn't have any side effects and it gives protection she may need later in life. Still get your regular check-ups. Your health is worth the time and effort.
Hell NO! I would not do it.. There is no guarantee that it works if you are at high risk for those types of cancers then do research and make an educated decision on what you can do to lower your risk factor ..There are alternatives out there with no side effects short or long term that can build your immune system defenses against cancers along with diet.....
