Overactive Bladder, went away and came back.?

I had been getting frequent bladder infections, although they were pretty mild. This last time I went to the doctor (2 weeks ago), the tests were clear so I was prescribed Detrol LA. It worked almost right away. However, a few days ago I started getting the urgency to go. Does anyone have any suggestions on what went wrong? I did have one alcoholic drink the day before, but would that irritate my bladder for four days?

Not likely alcohol would cause that. I have the same issue, and take Detrol but mine is caused by a bladder stone I have to have removed. Might be your issue, or maybe you need a stronger dose, or simply have a urinary infection causing the problem. Good luck. Detrol is certainly a miracle drug in my opinion!

Why haven't you gone back to or called your doctor with this? He should know. Also, there might be other factors you are not aware of like diabetes. Call your doctor even if you cannot afford to go in. Ask the nurse to have him call you back and explain the situation.
