I am so embarrassed--overactive bladder? |
Ok i am 21 and was diagnosed with an overactive bladder. I have the urgency kind where I have to go all of a sudden and if i dont make it I will soak my pants. Well I forgot to take my medicine this morning and it happend at school. I am so embarrassed, please tell me i am not alone and if you know of any online support groups. You're not alone - one of my friends had the same thing. It started when she was in her early 20s, but now it seems to be much better (she's in her late 20s now). Sorry to hear you peed your pants, and I can only imagine how embarrassing that must have been. An excellent on-line resource for overactive bladders is http://www.cobfoundation.org. It has lots of info and even a chat room. Check it out. Have you tried the bladder diaper thing-ies? That sounds weird and, please, don't take it offensively somehow. If you don't use them, I think that you might want to try in case you forget to take your medicine again, ;/. you are nto alon a lot of ppl have that! i do not know but my friend has it and it happens a lot to her but over time i will get better and you u might be a little embarrassed but it will get better jest wate and see! good luck! I don't have personal experience with this, but don't feel alone - incontinence is an under-reported problem. Google it, or even ask your doctor if they know of any resources for you. Also try local hospitals - they often run free or low-cost support/educational groups. im not that bad but i do have a touch of inconinance - try wearing tenalady just incase -tehy are incontanance specific - also do pelvic-floor excersises to strenthen the muscles - its really common so try not to be too embarressed - im sure theres pleant of info if you google it |
