Pain Management people. What do you do when your Fentanyl patches no longer work?

Or is this impossible. I am asking because I am in chronic pain and beyond pills.

I would find out why I have the pain and what is causing it.

Look in the phone book for an Osteopath

trust me you will always be able to find relief from medication

i have been a fellow chronic pain sufferer for the last 20 years during that time my medication has not always controlled my pain even after all this time i am about to go through a second change in medication since january

have you got a good dr? if not change to another who you can trust
you need support from your gp who is the only person who can organise the pain management teams which you need a referal to or refered back to

i have just gone back to mine and a different physician who is taking a whole new look at it
you are never beyond pills be polite but forceful explain that your pain is not controlled and ask for an urgent referal your gp may even support you by refering you to casualty to be seen there and then by a specialist for uncontrolled pain
dont be stowick tell it like it is and if your gp will not refer you walk in off your own back just not on a friday or weekend

make sure you take a supply of the strongest thing you have but dont be in a hurry to give up all your supply then when they are wasting time desciding what to give you you can take it when they are not looking so you dont end up throwing up because you are in so much pain

obviously dont take risks by over doesing but just remain in con trol

good luck

Doctors may suggest an INTRATHECAL MORPHINE PUMP.
If anyone out there has one of these, learn the procedure to refill it. ( You can't refill it yourself. ) A doctor made a mistake while filling my mothers and sent a 40 day supply of morphine straight to her brain. She now has no short term memory at all, has lost the last 30 to 40 years of memories, and needs 24 hour care. BE CAREFUL !!!!!

u migth need some kind of injections

You talk to your doctor!
Have you discussed a Spinal Cord Stimulator?
It is an option that wasn't an option for me b/c I have to get MRIs due to a tumor condition, but it could really provide some relief for you.
