Pain management clinic? |
Ok so I have asked questions. I have mild scholosis, mild spandylosil, par defect, had muscle damage and continue back pain from a car accident in 2004. Hurt myself on 2-9-08 at work. Nothing really showed up in my mri except for a pars defect which I was told is a birth defect. They aren't sure where the pain is coming from but the last doctor I saw told me I am too young to be going thru pain and to get over it. They will check you in, talk to you, and their main function is prescribing controlled drugs. They will give shots to the area in question, but will more than likely refer you to another Doctor specializing in your problems. I would take the MRI and x-rays with you anyway, even though they did not ask. If the Pain Center is located in the hospital where you have had all your tests and whatever else, they will have immediate access to them. Where I live, it is in the same hospital. Pain Management is exactly what they are, manage pain medications and increase them or decrease them as time goes by and either you improve or worsen. Also sounds like you need another opinion from an upstanding Physician. Best to you sir. Nothing worse than living in pain, I know because my wife lives with it. Usually they will order their own tests, which may involve nerve conduction studies and radiologic tests to be read by their preferred radiologist. |
