A listing of private physician in the metro detroit area who prescribe Methadone for pain management All physicians with appropriate a license to prescribe narcotics may prescribe methadone for analgesia. Try the following doctor finder... Each state has different guidelines, but I am thinking that you are probably need a Pain Management MD to get Methadone OR you will need to be in a clinic atmosphere if you need the Methadone for other reasons. I'm not positive if the DEA only lets Pain Management docs prescribe Methadone (other than Methadone Clinics), but I don't know of any family medicine doctors that are prescribing Methadone and advertising it on the Internet. Advertising on a list for doctors who dispense methadone is unusual. I've never heard of a list nor anyone that has one. I know there are drug rehab clinics that employ doctors who if they feel their patients warrant methadone will prescribe it to them. If you feel you need methadone then you need to go to a physican, explain your problem and they will followup with tests and determine whether you need this type of medication. It is a powerful drug that is prescribed with caution and it should be followed up closely by a physician in order to regulate the safety of his pantient. Any doctor with a DEA license # can prescribe Methadone, including family practitioners. I think this is widely misinjformed that only pain specailists or other drug rehab dr's, etc. can prescribe this drug, any doctor with a DEA and can write out triplicates can write a prescription for this drug. You might want to try tthe AMA online and see what they say about DEA cert. dr's in the Detorit metro area. Go to a methadone clinic and tell them the truth....Get into a program..Get help...If someone really needs methadone for pain, they are really ill and would already be in the care of a physician....If you are addicted to Methadone then check in somewhere and dry out...If you don't it will become a lifelong addiction.....Good Luck !! You would have to call some doctors offices, make an appt. for a physical exam, and then they may prescribe what you want. No such list. Nice try. |
