Ganglion cyst removal and pain management question?

I have a friggggin annoying ganglion cyst on my left wrist. It goes away, then comes back, goes away, comes back, repeat......
I know even with surgery this stuff comes back, so how do I deal with it?

Is there a way to slow it down somehow?
If I smash it with a book, how long until it comes on back(on avg.)?
If I smash it away, will the pain also be gone?
I'm this close |------------------| to smashing it, so any helpful advise will be appreciated. ty

These can be treated with an injection. My daughter had one, the surgeon injected it, and it never came back.

I have one that I have never gotten treated, I just got used to it. I've had too many surgeries and don't want another one, so I might end up getting mine injected too. They use some sort of cortizone shot I believe.

Slamming a heavy book on it is very risky. You can break bones in your hand or wrist. There are a lot of very small bones in both, so this is not really a good idea. If you want to do something about it, see a specialist and try an injection, and see what happens. If one or two injections doesn't do it, then I'd consider surgery at that point.

Good luck!
