I have already been to Pain management consultants. With J.Lowell Haro,M.D. They tried everything from injections to stimulators etc. They said that the only thing left is narcotics, which worked fine. Norco max of 8 a day. I started to ask for early refills because workmans comp only let me have a 15 day supply at a time. And i was traveling to mexico, and had to come back for the next refill. Then without any warning he cut me off, and said sorry the law says I can no longer give you anymore. So i had to go through withdrawls for a month. It was no fun of course. My pain is getting worse,so i went to my family doctor and he recommended Advanced Pain Care with Malone,Mark T MD. Called for a appointment, they have not called back, it has been 2 days already. After looking him up in the internent. It seems that he and his staff were very rude. According to one person. HELP.
Good luck! THe FDA is really coming down hard on doctors who prescribe pain meds. My husband has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and is on Percocet and the Duragesic patch and it's a fight every month to get them refilled. What's your diagnosis? Good Question, I will give it my best. Yes the FDA is tightening up on pain meds due to Its abuse by so many. However it was not protocol to just cut you off. I'm sure your doctor at some point had recommended physical therapy and gave you a script to go and see a therapist who would have set up a schedule to follow.(workers comp would have paid for this) did you comply with doc's order? as they are in contact with them and ask for progress reports. if you did,nt comply, well then that is just one reason for the cut off. if the injury was similar to where another person would have healed in a few weeks by following doc's recommendations would be another and if you were you showing signs of one who was injured so bad, then why the trip to Mexico? Doctors know who is pulling their leg just by your behavior in the clinic. for visits did you only ask for pain meds with no signs of injury? upon exam did the doc find any signs that you were still with injury? what were the circumstances involved with the injury at work? did you have witnesses who seen you get injured? many variables here. if it were the employers fault through negligence, why did you not seek an attorney? or were you on drugs at the time? except the doc should have weened you off or did he. utilize other avenues, Go to a acupuncturist , it helped me, and I was in pain since my youth.
